Ogden Nash

Ogden Nash was an American poet known for his witty and humorous verse. He was born on August 19, 1902 in Rye, New York, and grew up in Savannah, Georgia. Nash began writing poetry while attending St. George's School in Newport, Rhode Island, and later worked as a reporter and advertising copywriter before becoming a full-time writer in the 1930s. His first book of poetry, "Hard Lines," was published in 1931, and he went on to write several more books, including "I'm a Stranger Here Myself" (1938) and "Verses from 1929 On" (1940). Nash's verse often dealt with everyday life and contemporary issues, and his unique style and clever wordplay made him one of the most popular and beloved poets of the 20th century. He died on May 19, 1971 in Baltimore, Maryland.
