Kabir
1440 - 1518
Kabir was an Indian mystic poet and saint who lived during the 15th century. He was born in Varanasi and lived most of his life in the city of Kashi, India. Kabir is considered one of the greatest poets of the Bhakti movement and his poems often reflect themes of love, spirituality, and the search for truth. He was a strong critic of societal norms and institutionalized religion, promoting individual devotion and personal experiences with the divine. Kabir's poems, known as bhajans, were passed down orally and later collected into several volumes, including the Adi Granth, a revered scripture in Sikhism. Today, Kabir's teachings continue to inspire and influence people of many different cultures and religions.
