Jessie Pope was an English poet and writer, born in London in 1868. She is best known for her lighthearted and patriotic poems that were published in the popular British newspaper "The Daily Mail" during World War I. Pope's work often celebrated the soldiers and encouraged support for the war effort. Despite her controversial and sometimes criticized views, Pope's poems remained popular and continue to be remembered as an important part of the literary landscape of World War I. She died in 1941 in London.
